June 9th, 2009

Today we had our 29 week appointment! Wahoo!
I only have 11 more weeks to go thank god! (=

She has a very strong heartbeat that is getting louder every time we go. I was also measured and I seem to be right on track. 29 inches exactly.

Last Friday I also had standard Glucose testing done where the doctors have you drink a soda like substance and then wait an hour and take your sugar. We passed with flying colors!

I now weigh a steady 150 lbs. Which means I have been growing at about a pound a week. Right on schedule!

Thanks!

June 2009

Hello again! This month is big! We are starting to get things accomplished. Steve and I have ordered the baby furniture, and it is officially going to be here the middle of July! I have included a picture of her crib but the finish on hers is actually darker. My mom is coming over on the 5th to paint the nursery- is it going to be a pale green. It is actually Ralph Lauren's Plantation if you would like to look it up! As of June 1st I was officially in the 3rd Trimester! yay! 29 weeks on Sunday- 11 to go!

April/ May 2009

Nothing really too interesting to report. I have been attending my regular appointments, and getting to hear her heart beat at each one. It keep getting louder and louder with each appointment! At 22 weeks on a Tuesday night Steve was able to feel his first kick! She got his hand square on! It was so nice to finally have him feel the little bubbles of movement I have been experiencing for about 2 weeks. It is an indescribable feeling; but I think it is close to what a twitch would feel like. Just imagine it is your whole tummy twitching! The doctors have been calculating my weight every month (at the last appointment I had only gained 13 pounds) and now we are measuring as well. I am right on target with the measurements, 25 inches at the last appointment. we should be right around 30 this time. They measure from the pelvic bone right to the underside of my ribs.

March 27th- It’s a GIRL!

Today we had our 13th week sonogram. We officially found out that our little bundle of joy is a GIRL! I couldn’t be happier! We had already picked out names, so she will be Annemarie Park Roesch. The sonogram was very long, it took 1.5 hours to get all the measurements they were looking for. They had to measure each of her limbs, heart, brain, spine, and the crown to rump measurement too! Everything came back perfect and we got to find out right at the end of the sonogram that it was a girl! I think Steve was in shock, he was like “are you sure it’s a girl?” She had sat right on the camera, so the lady taking the ultrasound said… oh yes- I am sure. Haha! (= Now we can start buying all the pink things in sight!

Blood drawing and Ultra Sound 2- March 19th

Today I went for a blood draw which will let me know the chances of the baby having birth defects such as spine bifida (Sp?), or Down syndrome. Since I am at the optimum age for carrying a baby the nurse said we shouldn’t be too worried about the tests. The doctor had a hard time getting the measurement he needed because the baby kept curling up in a ball and putting its back out for us to see. They said this is a defense mechanism that they develop even that early in the woom. Crazy, huh? Eventually we were able to get the pictures and blood we needed and I was again on my way! I was so happy that I got to see the bun again! Steve has nicknamed the baby “the bun” until we know what we are having… he wasn't able to make this appointment so my mom came instead! She was so happy to see the little baby on the screen... We are truly blessed.

Febuary 6th Ultra Sound 1

Ultra sound 1 Today we found out the pregnancy is in fact intact- The baby has a strong heartbeat and is developing right on schedule. We don’t know the sex of the baby yet, but we know she is on the way! We also got to hear the little heartbeat on the monitor for a while. It sounds like a washing machine in there! I hope it isn’t a light sleeper… The baby is about 5cm long, and only a couple ounces at this point. The ultra sound appoint revealed that I have a small cyst on my left ovary and that the right one was hiding. The doctors said this shouldn’t affect anything down the road, and might be something to just keep an eye on.

Baby News! January 2009...

January 21st – Steve and I confirmed through our first doctor’s visit that were expecting our first baby! This was unexpected but exciting news… and we couldn’t believe we had to wait to tell everyone about the upcoming bundle of joy in the oven. We chose to see Dr. Glenna Anderson with Fairfax Hospital for our prenatal appointments. We chose her based upon some research online with RateMD’s. This was the best decision we could have made! Based upon this information and our initial appointment we knew they were going to be the best doctors for us. There are 7 women with the practice and I have met each one. They have been very kind to us- The baby will be born in one of the top hospitals in the country. With one of the top 50 rated neonatal units should we need it. (keeping our fingers crossed we don’t)
